Your nutritionist may ask you to complete a food diary. For those of you who are already familiar with using the food tracking app, MyFitnessPal, you will now be able to sync your MyFitnessPal food diary with SENPRO. This means, the foods you log in MyFitnessPal will automatically sync into your SENPRO Planner for your nutritionist to see.
This article will cover:
Setting up MyFitnessPal & SENPRO in 3 steps
These cannot be skipped❗️
Step 1: Set your MyFitnessPal food diary to Public
This step can be done from the MyFitnessPal mobile app, or from the web-platform.
From the MyFitnessPal web-platform:
Log in to MyFitnessPal and then click "Settings", followed by "Diary settings" (or click here to go straight there). Here you can set your food diary to "Public".
From the mobile app:
1.1. From the mobile app home screen, tap "More", followed by "Settings".
1.2. Next tap "Diary Settings".
1.3. Then tap "Diary Sharing". Here you will be able to set your food diary to "Public".
Step 2: Locate your MyFitnessPal username
From the MyFitnessPal mobile app home screen, tap "More", followed by "Settings", then "Profile". Here you will see your username.
From the MyFitnessPal web-platform, click "Settings" followed by "Change username" to see your current username (see image below), or click here to go straight there.
Step 3: Enter your MyFitnessPal username into SENPRO
There are two ways you can add your MyFitnessPal username in SENPRO.
Method 1: Go to your SENPRO Account Settings and then click the "Apps" tab. Here you can enter your MyFitnessPal username (see image below).
Method 2: Alternatively, you can share your MyFitnessPal username with your nutritionist, who will be able to enter your username into the Planner Configuration Settings on your behalf.
How will my MyFitnessPal data be displayed in SENPRO?
After correct installation, your nutritionist will be able to turn your MyFitnessPal data sync on and off. In other words, your nutritionist will decide whether to display your MyFitnessPal data in SENPRO.
When the MyFitnessPal data sync is turned on by your nutritionist, your MyFitnessPal food diary will be displayed in the SENPRO Planner. This includes all foods & recipes that have been consumed & logged on a per meal basis.
We are not yet able to sync the following data from MyFitnessPal into SENPRO:
Logged fluid intake
Please also note, this is a one-way sync, from MyFitnessPal to SENPRO. This means, all meal plans generated in SENPRO cannot be synced & displayed to the client in MyFitnessPal.
Finally, the purpose of this sync is to enable nutritionists to view their clients food diary data, which is why we have not enabled MyFitnessPal data to be synced into the SENPRO client mobile app. We are however open to your feedback on how you would like to see this feature developed further!
